Selected Designers

Details To Follow, the second pop-up design event presented by The Gin Palace. Details To Follow is happening on the 9th, 10th and 11th of April 2010 in 12-16 South Frederick Street, Glasgow. Working with Lambert Smith Hampton, we are very excited about securing this central location and we have big street level windows so everyone can see us! We will open on Friday night (invitation only) serving Caorunn Gin, with some chilled music, then we will be open all day Saturday and Sunday. Here is an almost final list of the designers showing with us at Details To Follow. Things are getting very exciting up here in The Gin Palace. Please email us at theginpalace@hotmail.co.uk for opening night tickets or any more information. Enjoy...

Deadline for submissions is almost here...

This is a post without images, which we are not used to doing here at The Gin Palace - we are visual people, of course. We've been having lots of meetings and talking to people about our next pop-up design event in April 'Details To Follow', as well as thinking about the future, this is really an exciting time for us. We have been blown away by the amount of submissions we have had for our second pop-up, because of the size of Scotland we wrongly assumed that we might struggle to keep the standards up whilst showing all new work - quite the opposite in fact. This makes us all the keener to push ahead with our plans, so thank you to all the designers who have applied so far. After the 19th February we have the delightful job of looking through the submissions and thinking about what will work best for our second pop-up, and in doing this we realise why we are working our socks off to create a platform for design in Scotland, there is such a wealth of design talent in Scotland and we are incredibly proud to represent these designers and their wonderful work. As soon as we have confirmed designers we will post some images for you all to see. Roll on April and 'Details To Follow'!

Finally...some images from 'The Shape Of Things To Come', our first pop-up design exhibition in Glasgow, which we hosted in Miller Street in Glasgow on Saturday 28th November 2009. We were delighted with how it all went - a huge success all round! We are now busy making plans for our second design event, which will be bigger and better. It is called 'Details To Follow' and it will be held at the start of April 2010. We are taking applications from designers, so if you are a designer and you are interested in showcasing and selling your work with The Gin Palace please send a short statement and up to five images of your work to theginpalace@hotmail.co.uk.

Ok...have a look at photos from our very first exhibition, all photos were taken by our photographer Phillip Sword.
